The T Level will help students develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

- Project methodology and administration

Learners will follow a core module that will develop a general understanding of Craft and Design, including:
- The creative economy

They will also choose the Jewellery Maker pathway to develop their specialist skills.
Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of, and skills in:
- Creative propositions and briefs
- Creative product development
- Design processes
- Materials, tools, processes, and techniques
Who is this Technical Qualification for?
This Technical Qualification can only be taken as part of a T Level course and is not available as a stand-alone qualification. It is for post-16 students and is ideal if you are intending to progress directly to an apprenticeship/employment within the Craft and Design sector in areas such as Craft Assistant (ceramic designer/maker), Jewellery and Silversmithing (jewellery designer/maker), Or wish to study further in higher education.
Employers vary within the profession; from small craft employers and individuals to larger design firms linked to manufacturing.
All careers in Craft and Design require good communication skills, creative ideation and practical making skills, time management, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate to meet client needs.
AUEA UTC will offer learners a unique learning experience through practical real-life projects which will be led by industry experts. Learners will be taught by teachers who have industry experience and are well established classroom practitioners.

Job Opportunities
Jewellery Designer: As a jewellery designer, you would create original designs for various types of jewellery, such as rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. You would use your artistic and technical skills to develop unique concepts and may work with precious metals, gemstones, and other materials.
Jewellery Manufacturer: With a T level in jewellery making, you could work in the manufacturing sector, where you would be involved in the production process of jewellery. This could include casting, soldering, stone setting, polishing, and other techniques to create finished pieces of jewellery.
Jewellery Repair Technician: Many people require repairs and alterations for their jewellery. As a jewellery repair technician, you would assess damaged or broken jewellery, identify the required repairs, and skillfully restore or modify the pieces to their original or desired condition. This role requires expertise in various repair techniques and a good understanding of different jewellery materials.
Jewellery Appraiser: In this role, you would assess the value of jewellery items for various purposes, such as insurance, estate planning, or resale. You would need a strong understanding of gemstones, precious metals, and jewellery market trends to accurately evaluate jewellery pieces and provide detailed appraisals.
