Project Slingshot
Project Slingshot is our new programme that gives young people practical, hands-on experience in aviation manufacture and flight. Working outside of formal learning environments, these programmes support groups of young people to deliver a complete aircraft thereby developing practical skills in engineering, project management and teamwork. Students will be building, as soon as restrictions are lifted, the empennage of the plane.
Plane Build Week 2
Students verified and completed component inspection checks. The empennage carefully boxed up will now be transported to RAF Cosford where AUEA students will learn invaluable leadership, teamwork and engineering skills to build the vertical stabiliser, horizontal stabiliser, rudder and elevator under the close supervision of experienced staff from the RAF, Air League, and Stem Highflyers.
