A Specialist Technical Curriculum.
Our curriculum has been created and designed with employers and universities to provide the ultimate progression route into employment, apprenticeships and university for all students.
Key Stage 4 Summary
A highly technical curriculum focused on equipping all students with the ultimate combination of GCSEs and specialist subjects to maximise their progression to Key stage 5 study and apprenticeships.
By attending our UTC, Year 10 students study a combination of the best GCSEs including English Literature, English Language and Mathematics (the same as all UK schools) and all students also have the opportunity to study separate sciences providing maximum progression to subjects like medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.
Students have the option of selecting additional subjects including Design and Technology, Business Studies, Media Studies and Sports Studies each which complements our science and engineering ethos.
Each student also then follows a specialist curriculum undertaking GCSE level technical courses including BTEC Level 2 Engineering. This provides the platform to learn from traditional workshops skills including bench fitting and fabrication to the very latest in 3D design and printing.
Students will also gain a language qualification in German ‘Global Language for Business’. Students proficient in a home language can also take A levels in this subject.
