The purpose of this trip was to contextualise the A level Biology course.

Students were able to draw on their knowledge and understanding of ecology in order to study and research the ecosystems in tandem with the University.

Students engaged in a variety of activities, such as sampling of fresh-water species and organisms; setting up transects in order to study sand dune succession and visiting a RSPB centre in order to analyse the ecological niches present.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to work in a university setting and to carry out their research for their unit 6 controlled assessments.
